Man Arrested in Rossmoor Stabbing of Jogger

James Rivas, 18 was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred Tuesday of a female jogger in Rossmoor. According to reports, a female jogger suffered stab wounds when she was jogging on a path popular with dog-walkers and joggers. The woman fought off the attack but the suspect continued after her until a neighbor intervened and frightened the suspect off. There was no known motive for the attack such as robbery or sexual assault.

Rivas will likely be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possibly attempted murder. He is being held at Orange County Jail on $500,000 bail.
