Ex-Fiancee Arrested in Orange Coast College Student Murders

Posted by Courtney Pilchman | Nov 21, 2012 | 0 Comments

The ex-fiancee of Daniel Wozniak was arrested yesterday for being an “accessory after the fact” of the murders of two Orange Coast College students. Rachel Buffett, 25 of Long Beach was engaged to Daniel Wozniak at the time he was arrested for the 2010 murders of Samuel Herr, 26 and Julie Kibuishi, 23. Law enforcement officials are not saying what Buffett was alleged to have done to be considered an accessory after the fact, however, the mere charge indicates she did not have any knowledge of the murder nor did she plan the killing.

Accessory after the fact indicates that sometime after the murders, Buffett is alleged to have done something to aid in the coverup of the murder, in the hiding or destroying of evidence or misleading officials regarding the investigation. The Orange County DIstrict Attorney's Office has not filed any charges at this time, Ms. Buffett simply has been arrested by Costa Mesa Police Department.
