Man Gets Life in Prison as Aider and Abettor of Murder

Vitaally Krasnoperov, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the murder of an Anaheim Hills father and daughter. Krasnoperov, while not present when the murders took placed did assist with the planning of the murders.

Iftekhar Murtaza, was upset that his girlfriend, Shayona Dhanak was breaking up with him because her parents did not approve of the relationship. On May 21, 2007, Murtaza broke into the home of Jayprakhash Dhanak and kidnapped him and his daughter Karishma Dhanak. Jayprakhah's wife, Leela was badly beaten and left for dead on the family's front yard.

After kidnapping Jayprakhash and Karishma, Murtaza beat, stabbed and then set the pair on fire. Soon after the murders, law enforcement learned of the connections between Krasnoperov, Murtaza and another co-defendant, Charles Murphy. Murtaza and Murphy are awaiting trial.
