Posted by Courtney Pilchman | Jun 14, 2012 | 0 Comments

Costa Mesa police department detectives were conducting an investigation into a July 5, 2012 incident where a suspect rammed his stolen vehicle into a police car. Vincent Leon, 27, a parolee-at-large was driving a suspected stolen vehicle when officers attempted to pull him over. Rather than stopping, Leon rammed his vehicle into the officers car before fleeing on foot.

Detectives believed Leon was the suspect in the ramming incident and requested the help of local agencies for his capture. Leon was spotted in Santa Ana where he led authorities on a foot chase before he was apprehended.

Leon faces attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest charges. Leon is currently at the Orange County Jail awaiting arraignment.
