Former Sheriff Deputy Receives Four Life Terms for Torture

In what was a horrific torture case, former Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy Robert McClain received four life term sentences for the brutal attack on his wife and her boyfriend in an Orange County courtroom. McClain, who according to his wife was jealous, controlling and violent during the course of their marriage. The wife told McClain she wanted a divorce and when he learned she had a much younger boyfriend, he “lost it.”

McClain, under the guise of wanting to have a civilized conversation asked his wife to set up a meeting with the two of them and her boyfriend. When the three were together, McClain proceeded to attack the boyfriend and slash is body with a knife. The attack lasted two hours before McClain took his wife home. The wife was able to escape after McClain fell asleep.

McClain was convicted of torture, assault, mayhem, domestic violence and several enhancements. He is not expected to ever get out of prison.
