Arson Investigator Charged with Misdemeanor by Orange County DA

Darryl Powers, of La Palma was charged with one count of brandishing a gun at a woman at Turc's Bar in Sunset Beach. If convicted, Powers faces from 90 days to 1 year in county jail and will be prohibited from owning a firearm.

While at Turc's, it is alleged Powers pulled out a knife and stabbed it into the bar. The bartender then took the knife and told Powers he couldn't have the knife in the bar. When the bartender stepped away, Powers took out a handgun and placed it on the bar with the barrel pointing to the woman sitting next to him. The woman asked Powers to put the gun away however, he refused. The woman complained to the bartender and they called the police.
