Ex- LA Sheriff Plead Not Guilty in Irvine Torture and Sexual Assault Case

Robert McClain, an ex-Los Angeles Sheriff deputy appeared in Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach and plead not guilty to three counts of mayhem, sodomy and torture and special bodily injury enhancements. His bail is currently set at $5 Million and if convicted, McClain will face life in prison.

McClain was arrested after a nine hour attack on his wife and her current boyfriend in their Irvine apartment complex. When McClain heard his wife was leaving him for another man, McClain set up a meeting with his wife and her boyfriend in their Orange County complex. Mclain's wife is a leasing consultant at the Irvine Company property and the meeting took place in the office, after hours.

During the meeting, McClain allegedly beat both the victims and slashed the boyfriends face with a knife and cut him in the groin. McClain then forced his wife to orally copulate him before she was able to escape the office. Employees of the complex found the boyfriend unconscious on the grounds an called the police.

McClain will be back in Newport Beach, Ca facing charges in January, 2009
