Ms. Kay has established herself as highly effective and polished trial attorney in Orange County and the Inland Empire.  Her ability to communicate directly and convincingly with jurors has enabled her to receive not guilty verdicts on many complicated and serious criminal charges.  It is with this success that she is a fixture on network news channels covering the biggest criminal matters worldwide.

As a criminal defense attorney, Ms. Kay handles a variety of cases including internet crimes, sexual assualt, gang crimes, major fraud, medical license defense and white collar crimes.  Ms. Kay has such a tremendous amount of experience and talent that she is highly sought after to analyze cases throughout the country.

Ms. Kay was a deputy district attorney for over 5 years with the County of San Bernardino working in the Chino, Rancho Cucamonga and Juvenile Courts. In that position, Ms. Kay tried many jury trials ranging from minor misdemeanors to serious felonies. She has won numerous pretrial motions and has vast experience writing and arguing all types of motions. While a deputy district attorney, Ms. Kay was assigned to several elite units such as, Crimes against Children, Auto Theft Task Force Unit and Family Violence.  While leading the Auto Theft Task Force Unit, Ms. Kay published an article in a bi-monthly publication of legal information for law enforcement around the state. She also spent time as a prosecutor in juvenile court and is extremely familiar with the juvenile justice system.  Because Ms. Kay has worked in specialized units she has done everything from working with police agencies to handling all types of court appearances such as arraignments, preliminary hearings, pretrial motions, trial, sentencing, probation violations.

Prior to joining the District Attorney's Office, Ms. Kay worked for a firm representing police officers in civil liability. She traveled to many different courtrooms and as a result, has built up a strong working relationship with courtroom personnel including district attorneys, clerks, bailiffs and judges.

Ms. Kay graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. She is licensed to practice law in the State of California and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
